Fabric Recommendations for Fashion Kids’ Puffer Jackets
For premium children’s fashion brands, we commonly recommend recycled polyester or recycled nylon shell fabrics finished with RUDOLF PFAS-free Durable Water Repellent (DWR) technology.
This fluorine-free water-repellent finish helps prevent dirt from adhering to the garment during everyday wear while maintaining a clean appearance without affecting the softness of the fabric.
For fashion collections that also require protection against light rain and wet weather, we recommend combining the RUDOLF PFAS-free DWR finish with a 3,000 mm waterproof / 3,000 g/m²/24h breathable TPU laminated construction.
This technical solution offers an excellent balance between everyday comfort, weather protection and durability, making it ideal for premium urban children’s winter collections.
Insulation Recommendations
Selecting the right insulation is just as important as choosing the outer fabric.
For children’s sizes 104–110 cm, we generally recommend 120–170 g/m² recycled polyester pearl padding, which provides an ideal balance of warmth, light weight and comfort while allowing children to move freely.
For down-filled puffer jackets, we commonly recommend 80/20 duck down with a filling weight of approximately 80–120 g, depending on the garment design, target temperature and required warmth.
Many premium children’s fashion brands are also increasingly adopting innovative and sustainable insulation materials, including:
